In this episode, I dive into Let’s Not Be Nice. As someone who grew up in Venezuela, I’ve always seen a big difference between being “nice” and being kind. In Spanish, we don’t even use the word “nice” the way it’s used in English—we focus on kindness (amable), which carries a deeper sense of love and understanding.
In this episode, I share why being “nice” can often lead us to people-pleasing and sacrificing our true desires, all in the name of keeping the peace. But when we shift from being “nice” to being kind, we create space to honor both ourselves and the people around us, with clear boundaries that reflect love and respect.
I also open up about a personal story—our family’s decision to homeschool our kids—and how I navigated others’ opinions while staying true to what God was calling us to do. It wasn’t always easy, but it taught me the importance of standing firm in my values, trusting God’s guidance, and loving others even when they don’t agree.
This week, I challenge you to practice being kind instead of just being nice. Learn to honor your dreams, respect your boundaries, and trust the Holy Spirit’s movement in your life.
Let’s step into the freedom of being who God is calling us to be—without apology!
